Pit Stop for Parents – March 10

Our next Pit Stop for Parents will take place Sunday, March 10, from 10:10-10:50 a.m. in the All Saints’ Room (128), and led by Lizzie Elder, MSW, LCSW, therapist for women with Vitality Counseling Services.

Lizzie is a graduate from the UNC School of Social Work, and has 17 years of experience in addition to a Master of Social Work degree working with children, adolescents, and adults in the field of emotional wellness. In addition, Lizzie has spent last three years pursuing Somatic Experiencing Practicioner (SEP), an advanced hyper focused study in a  resiliency focused trauma treatment. At this session parents will come away with strengths- based perspective to better understand the amazing intricacies of the adolescent brain from a neuroscience perspective.  In addition, you will come away with tools  to ignite compassion  to help you feel confident/empowered to connect with your teen. By attending you will have knowledge at a biological, psychological, social, and spiritual level to strengthen your own tools during this exciting and wondrous stage of development for your teen/tween!

Pit Stop for Parents provides a space where parents can stop and reflect on how we can help our children develop through communication and connection with their family and faith. Classes are offered periodically with a different guest speaker, target age group, and focus or theme.
