Kids with Purpose

Kids with Purpose (KWP) is a children’s outreach ministry that seeks to instill a sense of Christian service and responsibility in children. We gather for two, six-week sessions in the fall and winter, partnering with a different community organization each week. Children learn about the work of that organization, and participate in an activity that directly benefits that organization.

Kids with Purpose is open to children in kindergarten through 5th grade. Most of the gatherings take place at Christ Church but sometimes we visit local agencies. We meet on Tuesdays from 4:30 p.m. until 5:45 p.m. in October and November, and then again in January and February.

Some of our partner agencies include: Family Promise of Wake County, Neighbor to Neighbor, the Boys & Girls Club, Walnut Creek Wetlands, Special Olympics, Hope Reins, the Wake County Animal Shelter, and Rise Against Hunger.

Winter 2019 Schedule:

  • Jan. 29 – Police Department
  • Feb. 5 – Environmental Stewardship
  • Feb. 12 – Rise Against Hunger Meal Packaging Event
  • Does not meet Feb. 19
  • Feb. 26 – REACH (Resilience, Empowerment and Access for Children who are Homeless)
