Welcome Kate and Loftin!

Kate Oldham

We are excited to share that Kate Oldham has accepted the Director of Youth Ministry position. Kate will officially join the Christ Church staff on Sept. 1, 2019. She comes to us from Camp Cheerio, where she has served as the Counselor in Training Director. Read a message from Kate below –

Hello everyone! My name is Kate Oldham, and I’m thrilled to join the Christ Church staff. As a Raleigh native, I am looking forward to returning to my hometown and giving back to the community that shaped so much of who I am. I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a journalism and mass communications and psychology degree, and have spent my time since college as the Counselor in Training Director at Camp Cheerio. I am passionate about youth ministry because of my own experiences in youth group at Church of the Nativity and diocesan youth events, such as Happening. Middle and high school can be such impressionable times, and I love how the church can come alongside youth and encourage them in their faith journey. In my free time, I love cooking, reading, spending time with friends and family, and being outdoors. I can’t wait to meet you all soon!

Loftin Johnson

Loftin Johnson will also be joining the Youth Ministry team as Interim Youth Ministry Coordinator. Read a message from her below –

Hey everyone I’m Loftin Johnson and I grew up in a small town called Ahoskie, N.C.  In High School I came to Raleigh as a boarder at Saint Mary’s School. I majored in Recreation and Leisure Studies at the University of Georgia before moving to Nashville, Tenn., where I became a personal trainer. I’ve been back in Raleigh since January 2018 and have loved becoming part of the Christ Church community. I’m a huge sports fan, total bookworm, and pretend chef!
