About our Services

Holy Eucharist Rite I (8 a.m. service during the program year) – Intimate and concise, this service held at 8 a.m. in the Chapel each Sunday follows traditional Rite I language and includes a sermon and Holy Eucharist but no music.

Holy Eucharist Rite II (9 a.m. service during the program year; 10 a.m. in the summer) – This Rite II service uses formal but contemporary language and has something for all ages, including music, a children’s homily, a sermon and Holy Eucharist.

Holy Eucharist Rite I with Choral Music (11 a.m. service during the program year) – This Rite I service follows traditional Rite I language and includes a sermon and Holy Eucharist with rich music led by the Christ Church choirs.

Celtic Eucharist – This meditative service, held at 5 p.m. in the Church, features guest musicians, candlelight, sermon, poetic prayers from Enriching our Worship and a more informal atmosphere.

About our Liturgies

We use the Episcopal Church’s Book of Common Prayer (BCP) and its supplement, Enriching our Worship (EOW).

Rite I – Uses Elizabethan English (i.e. thee, thy, thou) and hearkens back to the rich language of Thomas Cranmer, the original prayer book creator.

Rite II – Uses modern language but retains the beautiful imagery of Rite I with more prayer options.

EOW – Uses inclusive and expansive language and builds upon the previous prayer forms.
